I love Brussels sprouts! This dish is paired with sweet candied walnuts is quick, easy, and ready in minutes. Perfect for parties, gatherings, or a nice dinner at home; this one is sure to please.

Vegan note: Dairy-free products are available at most supermarkets and health food shops

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:

2 cups brussels sprouts

3 tbsp.  olive oil

1/2 cup crushed walnuts

pepper, to taste

3 tbsp. sugar

2 tbsp. dairy-free butter

Preparation:

Wash the brussels sprouts and cut off the bottoms, and remove the top layer of leaves. Cut into thin slices. Take a medium size pan and heat to medium high with the olive oil, when hot add the brussels sprouts. Saute for 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly until the leaves turn a deeper green and lightly brown.

Take off the heat and transfer to a medium bowl.

Candied Walnuts:

Heat a small pan with the walnuts, butter and sugar on medium high heat, stirring constantly. Heat for 3-5 minutes until the sugar and butter is melted and well combined with the nuts. Let cool, crumble, and fold into the brussels sprouts.  Season with salt and pepper and enjoy!
