Baked Spaghetti with Italian Sausage

Pasta is definitely a favorite of mine and this dish is a simple comfort at it’s best. Just a few ingredients and dinner is done!

Note: For a vegan version try using ground tempeh, or vegan beef crumbles, found at some supermarkets. Or add veggies like squash or mushrooms instead.

Yield: 6-8 servings

Ingredients: 

1 lb. of pasta (spaghetti, penne, any kind you like)

1 lb. of ground Italian sausage

1 x  23 ounce jar of pasta sauce (any kind you like)

1 tsp. of dried basil, oregano, onion powder, and garlic powder

Preparation:

Pre-heat the oven to 350*F.

Cook the pasta per directions until al dente, drain and set aside.

In a medium skillet, cook the sausage on medium heat until internal temperature reaches 165*F. Add in all the spices and cook 5 minutes.

In a large bowl combine the pasta, sausage, add in the pasta sauce and mix well. Transfer into a baking dish 8 inch x 11 inch , or  a 9 1/2 inch glass pie dish.

Bake for 20-30 minutes at 350*F, let cool 5-10 minutes and enjoy!
