This is a simple meal that’s hearty, filling, and delicious. Pasta noodles swimming in a chunky tomato sauce, ground turkey, onion, and garlic. It’s budget friendly and makes a lot!

Vegan/ Vegetarian Note: Replace ground turkey with ‘meatless crumbles’ usually found in the frozen section at supermarkets. 

Yield: 8  servings

Ingredients:

1 lb. Ground  turkey
1/2 onion
2 cups pasta, any kind you have
1 small can pasta sauce
1 can diced tomatoes
1/2 tsp. of each salt,  pepper, and garlic powder

Preparation:

Boil a medium pot of water, cook noodles per directions, drain and set aside. Wash and peel the outer layer of the onion. Cut in half and then chop into a small dice.

In a large skillet, cook the ground turkey with onions and all the spices for about 10- 12 minutes, until turkey is cooked through. Add in the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Stir and simmer 10 to 15 minutes. Add in the cooked noodles, stir well and enjoy.
