You may have heard of the no poo method…that is a no shampoo movement for a natural way to clean and moisturize your hair. This version costs pennies and will leave your hair really shiny and cleaner in the long run.

I have been using this method for a few months now and I can say I’ll never buy store bought versions loaded with dyes, metals, and chemicals again.

Note: The first couple of times I cleaned my hair this way, I noticed afterwards my hair would be staticky and a little frizzy. You can help control this by using a small amount of coconut oil melted in your hands and run through your hair and on the ends. I also like to do a coconut oil mask for my hair once a month. After washing my hair in the evening and leaving the coconut oil in all night. When I wake up my hair is dry, shiny, and really soft.

After the first few times I cleaned my hair I noticed it was really shiny, and now I only have to wash my hair once a week, compared to the few times I would wash it using store bought shampoos and conditioners. Your hair will adjust and the pores will become cleaner resulting in stronger, shiner, cleaner hair!

Yield: 1 cup shampoo, 1 cup conditioner

1 cup baking soda (shampoo) https://amzn.to/3iDrLfq

1 cup apple cider vinegar -without the mother (conditioner) https://amzn.to/38xfQep

optional- coconut oil https://amzn.to/2DhfhKd

I keep 2 glass jars, a spoon, and a 2 cup measuring cup on a shelf I have in my shower.

In one jar add 1 cup of baking soda. In the other jar fill with one cup of apple cider vinegar.

When showering, first wet your hair. Then scoop out 2 level spoonful’s of the baking powder into the measuring cup. Fill with 1 cup of water and stir together well until baking soda is dissolved. So you have 2 tbsp. of baking soda to 1 cup of water.

Next tilt your head back and with your eyes closed carefully pour the mixture over your hair. Massage your scalp and hair and let sit for two minutes. You will notice that your hair will hold a lot of water and that’s good. Then rinse out and repeat the same method with the apple cider vinegar.

Mix 2 spoons of vinegar and 1 cup of water. Pour over hair massage and let sit for two minutes. Rinse off and towel dry.

Optional- Add coconut oil to the ends of your hair after towel drying hair and let dry and you’re done!
