DIY Toothpaste

DIY Toothpaste

This year I’ve really made an effort to make all my own natural bath and beauty products. I have been using this natural toothpaste recipe for the past few months and I love it. Its natural, has no chemicals, and my teeth look whiter too!

This easy recipe has minimal ingredients and costs pennies compared to the store bought versions.

Yield: 1/3 cup toothpaste

1/3 cup baking soda

filtered water

Optional: If you want a mint flavor try a few drops of mint extract. I also like to add a little bit of cinnamon to my recipe.

In a small glass jar add the baking soda and with a clean spoon add a very small amount of water about a 1/2 tsp. at a time. until your desired consistency is reached.

Too little water and it will turn into a paste. Add a tiny bit more to get a smoother consistency. If you added too much water just put in more baking soda. Add in any extract or cinnamon if desired. and mix well. Store and use like regular toothpaste.

Note: To keep toothpaste clean, use a clean spoon every time to get toothpaste instead of dipping your toothbrush into the mix. Or you can use a travel squeeze bottle, or even a cleaned out honey bear jar.
