I’m a native to Colorado, I love hiking, anime, coffee, and watching too many cooking shows. What is the name of your blog or book and how did you get started?

Nosh with Chef Julie. I got started after I graduated from Johnson and Wales University with a degree in culinary arts in 2016. I started this blog three years ago and I’ve used it as inspiration for my books.

What is your favorite food?


What foods do you crave all the time?

Chips and cookies. Salty and sweet is my weakness like yogurt pretzels!

What is your favorite comfort food?

Depends on my mood spaghetti ot\r really any pasta dish or sushi.

If you could learn how to make any food what would it be?

Korean and Indian foods.

What is your favorite thing about being a blogger, writer, or author?

I love sharing my work and my passions for food and writing on a daily basis.

What advice do you have for new writers just starting out?

Move beyond your fears and just write what is in your heart!

What do you like to do for fun?

I like to go on hikes, play video and table top games, watch anime, spend time with friends and family, and of course cook!

What helps you to stay motivated and keep writing?

Getting feedback from my readers and connecting with other writers and chefs. I’m very passionate about writing and cooking so this is my dream.

How do you attract new readers?

I engage people in all my social media sites,writing new content, and promote my books regularly.

What has influenced you the most as a writer?

Other writers and bloggers that have beautiful sites, books, and pictures. It’s all inspiring to me. Also reading other people’s work and learning from their examples and carving my own path has helped me discover who I am and what I want the most.

What is your favorite genre to read?

I’m a sucker for young adult fantasy books. Anything with a heroine, quests, dragons, vampires, magic I love it all!

What are you reading right now?

Lately I’ve been reading Joanne Fluke- food themed murder mysteries. She writes so well and I really connect with her characters.

What is something about yourself most people don’t know?

I took martial arts as a kid for 7 years with my brother. I lost him when I was 16 and my Mother 7 years ago. The loss has made me a much stronger person whose more humbled, and grateful, and my faith has grown stronger because of it.

What kind of music do you like to listen to?

I love pop music, electronica, new age, musicals, rock, metal, folk, country, classical, it just depends on my mood at the time.

If you could live in any book what would it be?

Alice in Wonderland or Eragon.

Who are your top three favorite authors?

Lewis Carrol, Mary Weber, and Christopher Paloini.

Do you have any blogs or books you can recommend?

Ah there are so many great bloggers and authors out there. I love the Joy of Cooking for my go to cookbook it has everything. For fellow bloggers I love the Minimalist Baker and Budget Bytes. And for chefs that inspire me are Chef Roy Choi, Christina Tossi, Gordon Ramsay, Guy Fieri, Masaharu Morimoto,  Ree Drummond, and Carla Hall.

If you could have super powers what would they be?

Elemental powers like Storm would be cool.

What is a typical day of writing look like for you?

I wake up make coffee and check my reports. I engage on my social sites and then work on writing my next book or blog post. I research fellow writers and bloggers for tips and advice to be the best writer and engage as much as I can with my readers.

What is your favorite movie that was based off a book?

The Hobbit.

What projects are you working on right now?

I’m currently working on a candy and cereal themed cookbook. Easy recipes using boxed ingredients with a fun twist. Nostalgia ingredients to take you back to your childhood. Perfect recipes for parties, cooking with your kids, or if your a kid at heart, this cookbook is for you!

Any other information you would like to include to our readers?

I just wanted to thank all my readers and those that support me and my books. You all inspire me on a daily basis to be at my best!

Likewise, Julie nice to meet you…Here is the link with the recipe this link shows the finished cake I have a few readers who are vegan/vegetarian and it is also National vinegar month hence why I cooked the cake like you I thought I need to offer different recipes depending on my readers 🙂 Be well and stay safe 🙂

  2. We have much in common as well as food…I am not vegan/vegetarian although I eat very little meat and do much prefer fish…I also love experimenting hence I made my first vegan cake using vinegar instead of eggs and it came out far better than I expected…Thank you for following CarolCooks2 🙂
